REVIEWS

Ryan Devlin's Album: Thoughts On The Matter
This one is the one that I want to hang around, as he plays a tenor sax like he was weaned on Dexter Gordon and John Coltrane albums. His tone is big and muscular and he’s got bop in his blood as he digs in deep.

... the end result is an overall presentation that becomes a fully enjoyable concert experience for any jazz fan.

Gene Perla's Album: Bill's Waltz
Wow ... This is great. You really did it. Full of love and completely in character.
Jeff "Tain" Watts

Then there are Perla's remarkable orchestrations that fit perfectly with Elvin Jones' vibrant playing, making it seem like a live date.
Zan Stewart, Star Ledger

Perla himself steers the entire proceeding from the rear, everpresent but never overbearing (some consider this a defining mark of a truly great bassist).
